Here to help you find serenity in life’s storms.

Fostering Resilience.

At Ignatius Counseling, we offer mental health services for those dealing with vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, grief, and a sense of isolation. We are proficient in EMDR and support clients on their journey towards healing and emotional well-being. Our mission is to provide a therapeutic environment where individuals feel understood and empowered to navigate life's challenges with resilience and strength.

My Background.

I’m Cinthya Fillips, the founder and lead therapist at Ignatius Counseling PLLC. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Administration from the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M. I also completed my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Tarleton State University, with a focus on integrating evidence-based practices into therapeutic work. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate Supervised by Mark Cagle, LPC-S and Lorraine Saldivar, LPC-S. I hold a deep commitment to supporting justice professionals and Christian Texans. My journey in mental health has been shaped by a blend of academic achievements, research, clinical experience, and a passion for empowering individuals to heal and thrive.

  • In my former role as a Counseling Intern at LCS Counseling and Consulting Agency in Fort Worth, TX, I provided individual and group therapy sessions to adolescents and adults. My clinical work included proficiency in crisis intervention techniques, intake assessments, and the formulation and execution of tailored treatment plans. I am committed to providing a nurturing and competent counseling environment while respecting the uniqueness of every client I serve.

  • Before founding Ignatius Counseling PLLC, I served as an Assistant Research Scientist at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). My work at TTI focuses on improving behavioral health outcomes and fostering criminal desistance among justice-involved individuals, particularly those involved in driving while intoxicated (DWI) offenses. As a project manager at the Center for Alcohol and Drug Education Studies (CADES), I develop curricula and trained criminal justice professionals, including judges, prosecutors, and probation officers, on evidence-based practices such as mental health screening, assessments, and referral processes.

  • I strive to provide compassionate and effective mental health care tailored to the unique needs of justice professionals and individuals seeking faith-based support. I specialize in trauma, grief, and loneliness, using strategies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process their experiences and build resilience.

Whether you're navigating the challenges of a high-pressure profession or seeking to integrate your Christian faith into your mental health journey, I'm here to walk alongside you. My goal is to empower you to heal, grow, and thrive in every aspect of your life.
